This was his debut novel. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down, author's inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Dust wrapper is lightly edge worn with some discolouration and handling marks. Light spots to the reverse of the dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and clean. Near Fine .
